Today I'll show ya' an example of my ''high rep'' legs workout. I have recently added high rep days in my routine, and I'm really enjoying them....you know the Arnold's quote...the pump...like coming..:)
The workout:
Leg press
20 x 80 kg
20 x 120 kg
20 x 160
15 x 200
10 x 240 (drop set 5 x 200, 5 x 160, 8 x 120)
Leg extension
3 x 20-15 reps (last set 3 x drop)
Leg curl
3 x 20-15 (last set 3 x drop)
Front squat
5 x 60 kg
5 x 80
5 x 90
3 x 100 (just wanted to try)
Hip thrusts
3 x 15 x 80 kg
Reverse hyperextensions
2 x 15
Calf raise on leg press machine
5 x 20-15 (last 3 x drop)
Donkey raise
2 x 12
For the finish....2 exercises for the abs, that's it.
I do the front squat usually in the lower rep range (from 8 - 5 reps), because the higher rep range impacts too much on my abs & heart rate, so I do not feel the legs muscles as I want.
I reached my lowest point on the scale (76,9 kg).....perfect timing for 6 weeks out !!
