The day of the GAME - Before / After

Here we are....It's been nearly a week ago, but I have found the motivation and time to write an article about the IBFF competition of 21st of June only now.
In general, we had really a great day with great results, and most important, we really enjoy all the team work and support of our friends and family members.

I came 2nd in my category (fitness tall). There were 15 competitors from several countries and the quality level of the athletes was quite good this year. I confess...there is a little of a bitter taste on my tongue for the result (that what we say in a Slovenian way:)). Because it's my 3rd time 2nd place. The winner was bigger than me with a great symmetry, but less ripped.....fair in my opinion...but you know, sometimes the judges have to choose between ''apples and oranges'' (that what Ronnie Coleman said most of the times, when he won the Olympia:))
6 hours prior to the show, unexpectedly I loose a lot of water/weight during the night....

These are the stage moments. The stage was very special, because I stayed there with my 2 buddies, Adil and Jure.(one of them I train). The stage time always pays off all the efforts and sacrifices made during the preparations.
Jure Marvin also competed in the juniors category and placed 3rd,in fitness tall category placed 5th....great result for his 1st BB show and only 22 years old.
Here are some photos of me and Jure on the stage.

Not bad for the 1st competition:)

The others?
Matej Šinigoj take the fitness small title again...he was shredded to the bone. For the fitness overall title unfortunately was not big enough.....Next time Matej, you are a pure freak !!!
This is the video of his last day before carb loading phase(3 days out):

Matej and another my client Filip Princi on the right
The winner !!
Filip Princi placed 7th in the same category as Matej(fitness tall) I confess....this was the toughest fitness category I saw in many years....so Filip one big clap for the condition you bring to the stage, behind all the problems we have during the cutting phase.

With my buddies Adil and Danijel
Adil Begič, who is trained by my friend was 11th in my category. He was in a great shape and the improvements he made last year were just amazing....he just need to ''pump'' the upper body. The most important thing is that he really enjoyed the stage and he can't wait so step on it again !!

Katerina, my only girl on the stage. She competed in a bikini and figure category. In bikini she did not reach the finals, in figure she placed 7th. It was a great experience for her and she pumped up so much motivation that she will be competing again on the 4th of July in Lipica, Slovenia. She has such a great potential that I believe that she will make an unbelievable progress next year !!

So.....this is it....the end of the journey? NOT. This is only a little stop to see the results of the dedication and passion for this sport. We must always keep pushing forward, to put our bodies on the greater level.....and most important,we MUST enjoy in the process, otherwise i say:'' Where is the point of it? ''
Now I will try to keep my calories in the maintenance zone for 4-5 weeks(around 3000-3200) and then slowly start increasing them over the time to reach my off season bulk numbers(round 4000-4500 kcal).....the first 5 days after the competition were really hard....my calories reached always a 5000 kcal limit....not so good, but a little relax from longtime caloric deficit I think It's ok :)).
So,welcome to the off season. I'll try to post my training, nutrition, lifestyle every 10-20 days on the blog to keep my motivation in the desired level. I see statistics on my blog, that I have a lot of international viewers every day (USA,Australia,Italy,UK,Germany,...) TNX all ya' for the support and sorry for my poor English grammar:)))

....AND REMEMBER: ENJOY THE JOURNEY,NOT THE DESTINATION !!!!

.....one of my favorite quotes, which is similar to my point of view of this journey (in fitness and life):
....so...once again,enjoy the journey:))
